The ultimate transgression

In general relativity, an event horizon is a boundary in spacetime, most often an area surrounding a black hole, beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer. Light emitted from beyond the horizon can never reach the observer, and any object that approaches the horizon from the observer’s side appears to slow down and never quite pass through the horizon, with its image becoming more and more red-shifted as time elapses. The traveling object, however, experiences no strange effects and does, in fact, pass through the horizon in a finite amount of proper time.

An Event Horizon has been crossed, releasing the contents of a black hole into Deepwater. As a representative of green-washed capitalism, the thin veneer of British Petroleum’s CSR make-over has been shattered.

IT IS FINISHED: the age of financial capitalism is over. The age of natural capitalism has dawned.

  1. Hmm 180 000 litres of oil will be on US shores at the start of this month next year if we assume that a quarter of the oil reaches the shore and that 4% of the oil decomposes. So the oil should disappear by the start of the net century…
